FAQ

Questions,
answered.

Something else? Email us and a real person replies.

Do I need to install anything?

No. ScreenDash runs in Chrome or Edge on Mac, Windows and Linux. Open the recorder page and you're ready.

Is my recording uploaded anywhere?

Never. Recording, editing and MP4 encoding all happen inside your browser. Recordings are kept in your browser's local storage until you delete them.

How does auto-zoom work?

ScreenDash scans the recording for small, focused areas of change, like typing in a field, and places zooms there. You can also mark moments yourself while recording, then move or aim any zoom in the editor.

Can I record system audio and my mic together?

Yes. Turn on your microphone in ScreenDash, then enable system or tab audio in the browser's share picker. Both are mixed into one track.
